The Spanish have different meal times to most other European countries. Breakfast is normally between 07:30 and 09:00, before starting work or school, followed by a snack at 11:00 and the main meal then is usually from 14:00 to 15:00. The last meal of the day consists of something light between 20:30 and 22:00.
Business hours in Spain and Malaga depend on the type of business but the majority open from 09:00 – 13:30 and re-open at 17:00 – 20:00. The supermarkets and retail outlets don´t tend to close at noon, whereas the local markets for buying fresh fruit, meat and fish open from 08:00 – 15:30.
